It was with a heavy heart that I share MLC’s founder, Tom Cleary, has passed away. He started the firm in 1965 and served as president for thirty years. While only one current employee of the firm, Ann Spagnuolo, had the privilege of working with him, Brendan and I have known Tom for a long time and are honored to call him our friend and mentor.
While most of you didn’t have the pleasure of working with Tom, you experience the solid foundation he built throughout our interactions. Without that, MLC wouldn’t be what it is today. Several years ago, while celebrating our 50th Anniversary, we honored him by naming our main conference room “The Cleary Room”. Today, we are all privileged to stand on his shoulders and benefit from what Tom founded over 60 years ago.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 67.5 years, Barbara, 1 child, and 1 grandchild. Tom and Barbara had 9 children, 22 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, with 3 on the way.
