November 18, 2024

As principal of Arizona Lobbying, Trish Hart’s mission is clear: “empowering progress and affecting positive change” for the businesses, trade associations, and nonprofits she represents. Can you walk us through your day-to-day as the principal of Arizona Lobbying?

My days typically include reviewing key issues, monitoring legislation, and engaging with clients and elected officials. However, clients’ needs change constantly, depending on the political climate, emerging issues, and other unpredictable factors. We come prepared every day to tackle these dynamic situations head-on.

Arizona Lobbying is a full-service government relations firm. What are your specialties?

Arizona Lobbying represents clients from many business sectors, including retail and consumer goods, healthcare, education, pharmacy, taxation, and liquor. We also represent clients in more specialized industries such as gaming, pharmaceuticals, auto recycling, classic car auctions, trade associations, funeral services, and other interests.

You take a “tailored approach” to representing clients. Can you speak more about this?

To best represent clients, it is essential to understand their individual business and government relations needs. We spend time learning and cultivating a strong level of trust to develop and implement a government relations plan that fits their goals and objectives. We also focus on communication by identifying the best way for clients to receive information and tailoring our outreach.

What do you consider the highlights of your term as NASL board president?

Serving as the NASL president was a great honor. NASL continues to grow, and the quality of the members is exemplary. We have seen many firms utilizing NASL to promote the development of new government relations professionals. It is exciting to see NASL members at the top of their profession promoting ethical standards within the lobbying field.

What are you most looking forward to at NASL?

I’m excited to see it continue to positively impact the industry and our members’ professional development.
